What We Do...

The Chairperson of the Board appoints three Commissioners annually. The Consortium was founded as an Area Agency on Aging in 1974 by Clinton, Eaton and Ingham counties and the cities of Lansing and East Lansing. As a non-profit organization, the Consortium helps older adults access programs, services and benefits, improve their health and remain active in their communities through partnerships with agencies and service providers across the area.

The Consortium was established to administer programs funded by State and Federal governments under the Older Michiganians Act and Older Americans Act. These programs provide services to older adults (usually 60 years and over) in the tri-county area. Services include Care Management, Case Coordination, Caregiver Support, Evidence Based Programs, Information & Assistance, Options Counseling, MI Choice Waiver, Medicare/Medicaid Assistance, Nutrition (Meals on Wheels, Congregate dining) and more.
